Our Lineage
Our classes are derived from the Ghosh Hatha yoga lineage made famous by Bikram Choudhury.
Bishnu Charan Ghosh, brother of Yogananda, established Ghosh's College of Physical Education program in 1923 in Calcutta, India. During this time he developed a system for creating optimal health by combining strength training with yoga. Sweaty Buddha carries on the spirit of his legacy by creating dynamic therapeutic classes that merge the wisdom of Ghosh's lineage with the science of today.

Silent Bikram
Accompanied by music, our Silent Bikram is a 75 minute class done without the instruction of a teacher. Made up of the same sequence as our Bikram class, this practice allows the student to explore the postures on a different level.
Since no instruction is given, some experience with the practice is necessary before taking this class.
“Yoga is 99 percent practice and one percent theory.”
